Research Nurse (18 Months)

Applications are invited for a full-time research nurse in the School of Medicine and Medical Science. The successful applicant will be part of a multidisciplinary research group which seeks to examine the epidemiology and transmission of Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori).

Between 1997 and 2003 we followed almost 300 participants and their families annually to determine when children became infected with H. pylori. We now plan invite these families to participate in a new study to determine how many have developed H. pylori since they were last tested and examine how infection might be transmitted among family members. The study will be based in general practice and the participant’s general practitioner will again invite his/her patients to participate in the study. 

The successful applicant will be responsible for recruitment, sample and data collection as well as data management for this community based study on the epidemiology the H. pylori. The successful candidate will be a central to the smooth running of the study and the collection and processing of data for various members of the research group.
