Chief Executive Officer - NewCom

Primary objective

Reporting to the Group CFO and has responsibility for all activities within NewComm to include budget preparation, new product development, customer management and pricing & execution. This role also holds full P&L responsibility.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for meeting the annual targets and P&L for the company.

  • Managing content creation costs, and ensuring adequate ROI from the same.

  • Formulate and implement creative strategies, to achieve the overall business goals and objectives with a specific focus on new products.

  • Manage relationships with operators in 20+ countries, technical partners, media partners and other VAS entities to ensure understanding, buy in and delivery of new concepts and products.

  • Manage a growing team consisting of developers, account manages, report analysis, admin, and accounts and have a keen understanding of consumer behavior and needs to ensure that the content for the business is created consistently and regularly with timely reports to monitor performance of all services.

  • To conceptualize and execute new products within the Mobile VAS framework, with an aim to be a leader in the made for mobile original IP space whilst meeting the demand of the consumer.

  • To ensure smooth running of the day-to-day operations with a focus on deployment of content, meeting targets and growing the business.

  • Any other function that is critical to/ essential for the business experience

Academic Qualifications and Experience required for position

  • Minimum of 6 years of work experience in the Telecoms industry, of which at least 3 years should be in core content sales within Mobile VAS.
  • The candidate will be required to live and work in Kingston, Jamaica.
  • Prior experience and proven track record managing multiple accounts in the area of telecom, handling large client accounts and client relationship.
  • The candidate should have solutions selling experience, prior experience of solutions selling to mobile operators is an added advantage.
