Category Manager, Global FMCG

 

A global FMCG organisation is currently seeking a Category Manager to join their team. Working as part of the Customer Marketing team, you will be an integral part of the customer planning process.

Who we are looking for:

A Category Manager, Senior Category Exec or Senior Category Analyst with an ambitious nature looking for career progression within a great company

The role:

Working as a part of a dedicated Customer Marketing team and reporting to the Customer Marketing Manager, the Category Manager will be responsible for analysing and interpreting trends from both quantitative and qualitative data sources and using this information to make recommendations to the Customer Marketing Managers and Key Accounts team.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of category strategies for the retail and impulse channels
  • Development of annual category plan, identifying gaps and opportunities for both the organisation and our retailer partners
  • Manage and support retailer category reviews
  • Analyse and interpret data to make recommendations to the Customer Marketing Managers and Key Accounts team to influence range, distribution, space, merchandising and promotional strategy
  • Creation and delivery of monthly business reports using AC Nielsen, Kantar and Dunnhumby data sources
    • Building strong working relationships with external category teams within our customers organisations
    • Develop and maintain a full suite of channel specific planograms and update as necessary to reflect changes in consumer purchase behaviour and NPD
    • Support the broader business unit with ad-hoc market analysis and development of corporate presentations, etc

Applicants should ideally:

  • Be currently working as a Category Manager, Category Analyst or Senior Category Executive with 3 – 5 years experience
  • Demonstrate a sound understanding of Nielsen data with a proven ability to communicate findings to others both internally and externally
  • Be a confident individual with strong oral and written presentation skills
  • Have a sound understanding of the Irish Grocery channels
  • Be an experienced user of AC Nielsen, Kantar, Dunnhumby and Space Planning software
  • Demonstrate strong commercial acumen, influencing skills and the ability to manage key internal and external stakeholders
  • Be strongly achievement orientated and have a real passion for business – desire and ability to achieve results is critical to this role
