Role Description

The Business Analyst role created to ensure that the business leverages the investments made into the BI platform and continues to invest in future infrastructure. The successful candidate will work closely with key stakeholders across the business to


  • Understand the competitive, strategic and operational considerations that drive them
  • Help stakeholders identify and monitor KPIs aligned to strategic and operational business goals
  • Help stakeholders identify and take advantage of value-creation opportunities by
    • deconstructing the value chain that leads up to the KPIs and highlighting gaps or
    • building business cases for investment
    • tracking KPI improvements against delivered projects
    • Help manage overall business performance by supporting budgeting & planning,  forecasting, and variance reporting
    • Provide a robust regular reporting platform for stakeholders
    • Support the Competitor intelligence platform
    • Ensure Data quality and reliability through regular QA , and managing ETL and Data
      Security practices
    • Provide ad-hoc analytical support for stakeholders

Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate would have

  • Demonstrated excellent analytical, communication, stake holder management and project-management skills
  • 5+ years in an e-commerce or consulting environment
  • Must have strong familiarity with at least two of the following : Financial Reporting, CRM, Web analytics
  • Technical Skills :
    • Reporting Tools : Must be able to adapt quickly to various reporting environments (SPSS, MySQL in particular). Strong query skills and a background in SQL will be a plus
    • Analytical Tools : Must be very familiar with MS Excel, experience of having worked with an OLAP reporting engine, like Microstrategy/Business Objects a plus
    • Experience of working with Webanalytics and online marketing tools, like Omniture , Google
      analytics, Google Adwords a plus
    • Personal Traits
      • A strong customer service and business-oriented ethic
      • The ability to balance between data needs and requirements for action
      • Ability to work well in teams and manage projects involving multiple stake holders
  • Education
    • A degree in finance/statistics/mathematics/computer science
