JOB DESCRIPTION


Autism Outreach Support Worker


1. JOB PURPOSE


To provide a range of training and supports to a client group with Autism Spectrum Disorder availing of the Autism Outreach services provided by National learning Network in consultation with the Health Service Executive.


2. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/KNOWLEDGE
Formal Education/Training


* Hold a third level qualification of at least degree standard in Education/Social Care and Psychology
* Disability Awareness training
* Adult and child protection
* New Directions
* Experience of Maintaining Health and Safety, Hygiene and good housekeeping


Work Experience


* 2 years working in ABA
* Experience of maintaining relationships with stakeholders in the provision of the service


Skills and Knowledge


* Have knowledge and experience of services for people with ASD.
* Experience of Positive Approaches to Behavioral Supports
* Excellent Interpersonal skills and demonstrate a high level of self motivation and ability to work on their own.


3. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Job Area

Complete initial assessment of clients referred to the service in conjunction with and under the direction of the Admissions Committee for the Service.

Manage a caseload for clients referred to the ASD Service, planning time and work allocation for individual and group work.

Devise lesson plans where relevant to clients person Centered plan.

Provide outreach clients with information regarding employment, further education/training or other community services appropriate to their needs.

Assist in the compilation of Programme design, programme records and all other documentation relevant to the outreach service being delivered.

Be actively involved in the delivery of the Outreach Service and to attend all meetings relevant to same e.g. multidisciplinary meetings, staff meetings etc.

Provide feedback to families and stake holders as required.

Assist in the delivery of Health and Safety and other policies and procedures as required by NLN.

6. OPERATING ENVIRONMENT
This role requires the job holder to:
* Flexibility required as part of day to day duties in the role
* Flexibility to attend training courses as required by National Learning Network
* A full driving licence is required and a suitable means of transport
