Glanbia Ingredients Ireland is Ireland's largest dairy company, annually processing over 2 billion litres of milk into a uniquely broad range of ingredients for export to more than 60 countries. We supply leading multinational food and nutrition companies - across a range of sectors from branded cheese and butter through to infant formula, sports, affordable and clinical nutrition for both developed and developing markets.
An opportunity has arisen on the Central Finance Team of Glanbia Ireland (Ingredients) at Ballyragget for a 6 month contract for the position of Assistant Financial Accountant. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work as part of the Glanbia Ireland (Ingredients) Finance Department. Reporting to the Finance Manager, key responsibilities include but are not limited to two key tasks being A) the preparation and submission of grant claim applications to Enterprise Ireland and B) the review and clearing of the GR/IR Account on the SAP General Ledger in line with accounting policy. The details of both key tasks are outlined more specifically below.
Key Responsibilities
  • Liaising with Glanbia Shared Services Centre in obtaining key supporting documentation (vendor invoices, proof of payments and relevant general ledger audit trails)
  • Working closely with key stakeholders such as Engineering Project Managers in order to obtain appropriate supporting documentation such as tax clearance certificates, vendor quotations and tender evaluations.
  • Collaborating with the Research and Development Department where required in order to build grant claim audit files and resolve queries proactively when required.
  • Responsible for communicating status of grant claim submission to and working with the appropriate Central Finance team members.
  • Liaising with Grant Inspector where required to facilitate a successful inspection and site visit.
  • Review and clearing of the GR/IR Account on the SAP General Ledger for the Ballyragget Business Unit.
  • To adopt GR/IR best practice by applying the GR/IR policy.
  • Investigation of GR/IR account legacy balances and taking ownership of resolving same in order to ensure the GR/IR account is operating in line with policy.
  • Performing review of aged GR/IR listing to identify write backs required where the accrual is no longer required (for instance undisputed GRNs where the vendor has been subject to reconciliation and review).
  • Central Finance Team ad hoc requests as required.
Role Requirements
  • Professional Accountancy Qualification or part qualified with good double entry accounting knowledge backed up by relevant experience
  • Desire to take ownership of tasks and determination to see to completion
  • Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
  • SAP knowledge a distinct advantage
  • Good Microsoft Excel skills essential
  • Proactive individual used to working effectively on own at times
  • Highly organized, ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
  • Comfortable dealing with various stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills in order to communicate progress made
  • Accurate with keen attention to detail
