I.      POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Hedge Fund Services IT (HFS IT) is currently looking for an Application Support Analyst \ Junior Developer to contribute to the technical support and enhancement development of Citco global financial applications. Responsibilities will include Level 1 and 2 incident and service management as part of HFS global support coverage. The successful candidate will be able to triage, assess, resolve, communicate and escalate systems issues as required.  

This position would suit a graduate level candidate interested in learning the core HFS IT applications and how they are used by the business to provide a first rate level of service to our clients.  The successful candidate will become part of the HFS IT Product Development team where they will use their support experience and HFS IT application knowledge to bring additional benefit to both existing application enhancements and new application development. The position will be based in Dublin and may require some international travel to other Citco locations. 

II.    ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONS:

This position reports into the HFS IT Technical Lead, situated in Dublin. HFS IT is a global team of IT professionals that are responsible for the development and support of IT applications that support the Fund Services division of Citco.  The successful candidate will join the local HFS IT Product Development team in Dublin and interact with the other HFS IT Development and Support Analyst teams in Singapore and Toronto on a daily basis.  They will additionally interact with the Citco business teams, support teams and other technical staff. 

III.   PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Support of financial systems and business processes
  • Document potential structural enhancements with the goal of reducing re-occurring support items
  • Develop structural enhancements to improve the stability and reliability of the HFS IT applications
  • Incident management, resolution, escalation and handover, as part of global time-zone coverage
  • Systems documentation and knowledge-base management for support efficiencies
  • Execution and monitoring of daily systems verification processes
  • Independently perform detailed assessments of technical issues, leveraging available documentation and application logging/monitoring systems
  • Work within the development team to implement, test and release structural enhancements to supported applications
  • Contribute to new application development utilizing support experience to ensure project success and ease of maintenance 

IV.   EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or similar discipline, or the equivalent education and experience
  • Must have excellent communication skills and must be able present diagnostic, troubleshooting steps and conclusions to a varied audience
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision
  • Strong interpersonal skills, adaptability and ability to deal effectively in a team environment
  • Database query development experience or aptitude
  • Exposure to development in .NET, preferably C#
  • Development of .NET based web applications using traditional Web-Forms and\or MVC with Razor
  • Development of .NET windows applications using WinForms and\or WPF

  Additional Beneficial Attributes/Skills: 

  • Troubleshoot problems in .NET and/or Java EE source code
  • Exposure to tools such as VS2010, TFS, Entity Framework, LINQ, NUnit, Moq (or other mocking framework)
  • Exposure to rich client technologies such as Silverlight, Adobe Flex, JavaFX
  • Understanding of Software Development Lifecycles such as Waterfall, Prototyping, Iterative
  • Knowledge of Agile programming techniques and SCRUM
  • Demonstrated ability to meet agreed deliverables and timeframes
  • Evidence of self-motivation
