Microbiology Analyst required for contract lab in Dungarvan

Applications are invited for the role of Analyst in our Pharmaceutical Microbiology Laboratory.  Analysts carry out scientific test procedures on customers’ samples and produce accurate results within an acceptable time frame using company procedures.

A diploma or degree in Microbiology or a related discipline is required. The ideal candidates will be good team players, organised, accurate, have strong documentation skills, and be passionate about quality and customer service. The job responsibilities are:

  • To become familiar with work practices and documentation requirements.   
  • To gain a deeper insight into the processes / procedures of Eurofins Lancaster Laboratories’ business including customer awareness, lab safety and efficiency  
  • To act on their own initiative and to learn as quickly as possible any tests that they are required to do.
  • To be responsible for proficiency in certain procedures / training modules as specified in their training plan.
  • To perform techniques / tests that they are qualified to do in terms of completed training records and as directed by the laboratory senior.
  • Training Analyst Level 1 and other Analyst Level 2 staff in techniques / tests for which they have approved training records.
  • To attain a more detailed understanding of the company’s quality systems including possible deviations and calibration techniques on basic level equipment.
  • To prepare customer reports for approval by senior staff.
  • To provide cover for other members of staff as required.
  • To keep their training records up to date and to initiate training as per their training plan where possible when free from work.
  • To adhere to all company standards in the area of safety, housekeeping and quality, notifying management of any discrepancies.
