ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT – JOB SPECIFICATION

We have an immediate vacancy for a proactive and self-motivated individual to join us at an exciting time and be part of our well established finance team. Working within a customer-focused environment in one of Ireland's Top 10 accountancy firms, this is an excellent opportunity for an accounts assistant to join a fast paced team which actively assists in the development and growth of the firm.

Reporting to the Commercial and Finance Manager, the successful candidate will draw on organisational skills and good attention to detail. He/she will be responsible for a variety of duties which include but are not limited to the following:

  • Assisting the team in delivering a high quality and effective service to our clients;
  • Daily bank lodgements;
  • Organise cheque requisitions and approval;
  • Monthly petty cash analyses and reconciliations for each of our 3 offices;
  • Accounts payable reconciliations / research and resolve invoice discrepancies or queries;
  • Ensure invoices are coded, analysed and approved prior to processing;
  • Assist with monthly credit card analyses, reconciliations and journal entries;
  • Assist with the processing of fees, write-offs and credit notes;
  • Assist with month end close; and
  • Assist with various other accounting related projects and ad hoc administrative duties

To perform this role effectively the successful candidate should have the following key skills:

  • Accounting Technician with 1 - 2 year’s experience working in a similar role;
  • Business & Accounting for Leaving Certificate essential;
  • Good accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Strong administration skills;
  • Motivated, self-starter will work on own initiative;
  • Experience with accounting systems is an advantage, but not essential as full training will be given;
  • Good communication skills;
  • Microsoft Office.
