Working within the Shared-Finance Function you will be responsible for a number of accounting tasks for the Baby, Dairy & Medical business models. This role is mainly an Accounts Payable role. Reporting to: Accounts Payable Supervisor & Financial Controller

  • Key brands for the Danone Baby business include Cow & Gate and Milupa.
  • Key brands for the Dairy business include Activia and Actimel

Department context: 

Working within the Shared-Finance Function you will be responsible for a number of accounting tasks for the Baby, Dairy & Medical business models.  This role is mainly an Accounts Payable role.  

Reporting to:  Accounts Payable Supervisor & Financial Controller

Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily registration and posting of purchase invoices.
  • Follow up on vendor queries and missing invoices.
  • Working directly with all departments in the business to ensure invoices coded, returned to Finance and posted in time for payment runs
  • Twice monthly payment runs.
  • Ensure payment runs are submitted to Bank on time and in line with strict payment schedules.
  • Ensure staff expenses are submitted with the correct signatures and back-ups.
  •  Raise EFT’s and cheque requests.
  • Updating Cheque/EFT register ensuring it is always up to date.
  • Creditors Reconciliations.
  • Month end reconciliation of intercompany accounts.
  • Daily tasks: Post, filing, telephone calls.
  • Support Financial Controller and Finance team with ad hoc project work and tasks as required to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the Finance department. 


  • Part-qualified ACA/ACCA/CPA/CIMA an advantage.
  • Experience in a previous AP/Accounts Assistant role also an advantage


Skills & Experience:

  • Strong IT Skills
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft office packages in particular word and excel essential
  • Experience in using computerised accounts packages
  • Quick learner
  •  Experience with SAP an advantage
