Retains and develops profitable relationships with existing customers

Establishing and maintaining strong client relationships through regular close contract account management include regular face to face meetings, telephone and email communications.

Retention of existing customer portfolio by agreeing new contract terms and agreement.

Establish network of contacts and communicate at various levels within the client’s organization.

Identifies and prioritizes new business opportunities with their existing portfolio including new products and services where Elavon can contribute value outside of pricing discussions.

Employs appropriate Elavon sales methodology in prospecting and developing client opportunities, identifying key decision makers and influencers and documents plans to develop client relationships.

Understand customer’s growth strategies and how these can be linked to Elavon’s growth aims and product suite.

Completes quarterly review of strategy and prospect list.

Ensures regular updates of Elavon CRM.

Establish and record client contact details in Elavon CRM.

Maintains account and opportunity plans for all client accounts.

Can clearly articulate value proposition.

Consistently meets or exceeds Portfolio and IYNB targets on a quarterly assessed basis.


Identifiies opportunities to increase revenue from existing customers.

Review profitability reporting for portfolio on a monthly basis to ensure all accounts are profitable and income in line with forecast. .

Works with the Interchange team to identify and data qualification issues or cost saving opportunities.

I denitfies and supports new costs saving initiatives.

Utilize strong understanding of customers to identify any additional Card Scheme proessing opportunities, e.g Maestro, Diners.

Identify any additiona acquiring opportunities within each customer relationship.

Records and regularly updates the income opportunities with clients in portfolio.

Demonstrates strong understanding of specific customers and their anticipated interchange qualification.


Pricing and Profitability


Demonstrates an understanding of how to calculate pricing on a variety of merchant types/channels and pricing structures.

Exhibits understanding of interchange and assessment fees, how rates are applied and the significant impact any changes can directly have on client relationships.

Able to educate merchants on processing improvements to optimize Elavon revenue and client processing costs.

Work with Sales to ensure that any new relationships are processing as planned with expected volumes and profitability.

Demonstrates capable use of the Elavon Pricing Model.

Demonstrates an understanding of revenue and how it is earned and distributed.

Adheres to pricing guidelines and ensures deals contribute positive ebit to Elavon.

Identifies variety of revenue opportunities within each client aside from DIA – terminals, DCC, MCC etc.

Exhibits awareness of sector/geography competitive pricing. Calls managers only after an initial analysis and is unable to comfortably come to a pricing conclusion to present to the customer.

Monitors the regular monthly reports such as EMR to perform calculations to check that profitability is in lines with expectations. Highlights any concerns and investiges where appropriate.

Ensures appropriate sign-off for all client proposals.


Attends meetings and trainings as required by manager

Communicates with the manager and the team keeping the manager up to date on sales goals, challenges, etc.

Attends product/service and process training as required.

Completes requested reports to management.

Returns calls or e-mails in a timely manner to management.

Communicates sales reports/status on a weekly basis (or as required) to manager.

Is on time and prepared for appointments with both clients and internally.

Upon request demonstrates knowledge of all new products as well as changes and updates for current products and services.

Submits required reports within the time frame specified by manager.




Maintains high level understanding of Elavon technical solutions available to clients, specific to defined sector/geography.

Co-ordinates with implementation group to convey client requirements and provide clear commercial framework to ensure smooth implementation of Elavon solution.

Actively Identify and articulate product development necessary to meet client requirements or create competitive advantage.

Ability to communicate without assistance high level solutions available to prospective clients.


Legal and Contractual


Adheres to legal prioritization process to ensure allocation of resources to assist in any contract negotiation.

Develop a working understanding of bespoke client contracts and takes responsibilitly for ensuring they are amended as required when changes are requested.

Exhibits credible knowledge of Elavon TOS and ability to work together with legal and other internal units to manage negotiation with clients.

Understanding of legal sign-off process.

Promptly identifies and highlights all requests for legal support to Manager.

Independently manages contract negotiations with clients, raising significant issues with manager.

Ensures appropriate sign-off is obtained from legal and other business units as required.

Stays informed about the Merchant Service Industry and the competition
