Location:

School of Computer Science & Statistics, Trinity College Dublin, the University of Dublin, College Green, Dublin 2.

Reports to:

ADAPT Associate Director (Commercialisation) and ADAPT Associate Director (Operations)

Salary:

Appointment will be made on the Administrative 1 salary scale at a point in line with Government pay policy €56,196 to  €70,469 per annum], appointment will be made no higher than point 3 €70,469.

Hours of Work:

37 hours per week.

Closing Date:

12 noon on Thursday 19th October 2017

 

 

Post Summary

The ADAPT Centre for digital content technology, hosted by the School of Computer Science and Statistics, is seeking to appoint a Research Grant Manager. The successful candidate will drive the Centre’s strategy to secure significant grant funding, will manage existing and new research funding awards in national and international programmes and will evaluate the success in line with the Centre’s research grant objectives. This position is funded as a specific role so that ADAPT can achieve its significant funding targets.

 

The Research Grant Manager is responsible for developing and driving the ADAPT Centre’s strategy for securing significant research funding in conjunction with ADAPT’s CEO/Director, Associate Directors and lead PIs. The post holder will work to influence the development of, review, analyse and absorb Funding calls, and apply expert knowledge of the ADAPT Centre research agenda and strategic awareness to identify funding opportunities for the Centre. The post requires the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels. Knowledge of the comprehensive suite of national funding schemes as well as other relevant international programmes along with a very strong understanding of the landscape from both a national/EU strategic, political and economic standpoint are a must, and the ability to input/influence the scope of these programmes is desirable. Excellent grant writing, communication, project management and networking skills are central to the role.

 

The position will work as part of research grant managers (EU and Non EU) and as part of the overall centre Management team supporting the ADAPT research partners.
