Kelmac Group are looking for an experienced Instructional Designer [eLearning] who is looking for a position where they will lead design and development of technical training material for an eLearning environment.

 

Kelmac Group are looking for an experienced Instructional Designer [eLearning] who is looking for a position where they will lead design and development of technical training material for an eLearning environment using a variety of tools based on international best practice – and is looking to learn and grow in a fast-growing consulting, audit training/education company, with an International presence.

Responsibilities

The Instructional Designer’s responsibilities will include:

  • Leading design & development of both new and converting existing technical training materials (classroom based) on time, on budget and per specifications.
  • Designing formative assessments tasks that allow learners to test their understanding, encourage critical thinking skills and self-directed learning.
  • Collaborate effectively with subject matter experts (SMEs) in designing & developing both new eLearning modules and converting existing training programs for eLearning including the incorporation of Web 2.0 tools for instruction and communication.
  • Constructing learning environments that promote interaction, social presence, and community among learners and between learners and the Kelmac Group®.
  • Designing and storyboarding interactive learning objects, selecting video material, assisting in media production by coaching and script editing.
  • Developing training and Learner orientation materials.
  • Ensuring that all online and blended learning courses are continually improved and adhere to the highest level of quality standards.
  • Assisting in the development of best practice guidelines regarding course style and design approaches and being an informed source for design solutions.
  • Be responsible for all stages of eLearning content production from requirements gathering, course outline, storyboarding, design, development through to publishing.
  • Create training materials that meet best practice instructional design principles and customer requirements (eLearning)
  • Manage complex relationships with stakeholders in an environment with short deadlines and high business impact
  • Assisting in the development of best practice guidelines regarding course style and design approaches and being an informed source for design solutions.

Qualifications, Experience & Requirements

The requirements for this position include:

  • Third level qualification in one or more of the following: E-Learning, Technical Communication, Computer Science or related discipline
  • 3+ years of experience in instructional design & development of eLearning courses
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, collaboration and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to understand faculty needs and translate those into dynamic courses
  • Awareness of accessibility issues and use of assistive technologies in course design
  • Ability to work with multiple deadlines and multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Strong self-directed project management skills, with a very good ability to work independently & under pressure
  • Fluency in all Microsoft Office applications, with excellent PowerPoint skills
  • Excellent knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models and familiar with best practices in the design and development of eLearning content
  • Expert knowledge of course development software Storyline 360 and/or other programs such as Adobe Creative Suite or similar tools, and mobile apps for training and education
  • Experience with the Litmos learning management system [beneficial, not essential]
  • Understanding of video technology and basic editing.
