Dunnes Stores is Ireland's leading retailer positioned at the cutting edge of food and fashion retailing. We have over 140 stores in Ireland, the UK and Spain and are expanding our service and product offer all the time. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced web developer for our online service. This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast paced, exciting work environment.
The senior web developer will work closely with the wider senior IT team, in addition to the ecommerce design /UX team and will be responsible for the frontend and back development of the Dunnes Store web properties. The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:
Develop e-commerce websites.
Experience with web services (REST/SOAP/XML/JSON)
Template development and conversion of designs into standards compliant HTML pages
Development of working prototypes and proof of concepts based on Dunnes Stores business requirements
Support the front end and backend development of the multi-channel strategy including in-store ordering and smart phone/tablet applications
Aid in development of multi-variant testing strategy with ability to recognise and implement key successes
Communicate project status, issues and resolutions to ecommerce team and key stakeholders within the business as required
Development and/or operational knowledge of all areas of ecommerce marketing: internal and external search; online marketing including SEO, email, ecommerce merchandising
Working as part of a team to tight deadlines
Experience & Skills:
3+ years relevant experience in HTML/ HTML5, CS2/CSS3, JS, JQuery ideally in a fashion and food retail environment
3+ Experience in JAVA ideally within an online environment
Experience working with 3rd party management systems Strong browser and cross platform experience and an understanding of information architecture
Experienced with W3C standards and WCAG 2.0 accessibility
Strong attention to detail, reporting skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Strong ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment.
Ideal candidate will have Websphere commerce certification (although this is not essential)
