Project Officer (Policy) – Fixed Term Post

 

Role Summary

The post-holder will work with the IPH policy team in the design and delivery of processes integral to the evolution of evidence-informed policy. The post-holder will deploy skills relating to stakeholder engagement and basic analysis of both quantitative and qualitative data. The post-holder will also contribute to evidence synthesis and integration of evidence into coherent recommendations for policy.  The role requires a blend of research and policy-based skills.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Contribute to defined IPH projects relevant to the development and review of policies on public health priorities, including healthy workplaces and alcohol policies

  • Conduct high quality analysis on quantitative and qualitative data gathered through structured engagement and consultation processes
  • Support the effective translation of consultation/engagement findings into recommendations for policy
  • Integrate the best available evidence relevant to health promotion policies and practices into the content and direction of evolving policy in Ireland
  • Conduct critical appraisal of the evidence used to inform policy priorities
  • Support the development of fit-for-purpose policy that is evidence-informed and context appropriate for Ireland
  • Develop clear, accessible communications for relevant IPH partners and committees on the process of policy development
  • Work effectively and efficiently with national IPH partners in accordance with tight project timelines
  • Report to the Director of Policy, and ultimately to the Chief Executive, as required
