Account Manager is responsible for a portfolio of customer accounts across all Kerry Groups technologies and end use markets i.e. savoury, bakery, ready meals etc within a defined UK territory.

The Account Manager is responsible for a portfolio of customer accounts across all technologies and end use markets i.e. savoury, bakery, ready meals etc within a defined UK territory. As the "one face" of Kerry to the customer, your role will be to implement the Kerry strategy with our customers. You will be part of the wider UK&I commercial team structure.

This role will be based in the UK from a home base. You will be expected to spend a significant amount of your working week in customer facing meetings at either their sites or at our Global Innovation Centre in Naas, Ireland.

Key responsibilities

  • Work with management team to develop customer plans and market insights to cultivate new business in Specialty Distribution.
  • Promoting Kerry products to our Customers via phone, written, and on site customer interaction.
  • Growing Sales volumes and increasing margins to fiscal plan.
  • Promoting Kerry products to customers at both the R&D and Purchasing levels.
  • Maintaining database records of call reports on key accounts, significant decisions, and opportunities within Salesforce.com.
  • Align market demands to distribution.
  • Analytical reviews of customers' performance and potential.
  • Vigilance and insight to competitor activity.

Qualifications

  • University degree in a food related discipline
  • 2+ years sales experience in the food industry
  • Good head for numbers: understanding costs, margins, profit and delivering shareholder value.
  • Strategic thinker and planner. Evidence of ability to clinically prioritise top important objectives and structure and deliver smart plans to achieve them.
  • Demonstrated understanding of their market, consumer trends, key players and competitive landscape.
  • Passion for food, taste and teamwork to create great food that consumer's love and our customers can sell in volume profitably and sustainably.
  • High emotional intelligence and adaptability to different personality types to get the best from internal and external relationships.
  • Prepared to get out there and spend maximum quality time developing and nurturing multi-level contacts with customers, all aligned to delivering objectives.
  • Demonstrate experience and understanding of the science and language around what we do: sensory / organoleptic, nutrition, labelling / legislation, manufacturing, RD&A processes, quality, etc.
