JOB TITLE:  Quality Assurance Officer

DEPARTMENT: Quality

RESPONSIBLE TO: Process Assurance and Compliance Manager

HOURS:37.5 hours per week. Hours of work will be 8:30am - 5:15pm Monday to Thursday and 8:30am - 1:00pm Friday.

JOB  PURPOSE

Responsible for Quality Assurance that promotes customer satisfaction, quality improvement and regulatory compliance by undertaking quality assurance initiatives and plans in support of business goals.

 

KEY  RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establish and implement metrics for monitoring quality assurance effectiveness and to enable staff to make sound quality decisions.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and other problem solving activities to identify effective corrective actions and process improvements
  • Undertakes process improvements that directly improve program operational performance
  • Participate and lead in internal quality audits and external supplier quality audits and perform follow up activities as required
  • Interface with supplier, customer quality and regulatory body representatives concerning problems with quality control and assure that effective corrective action is implemented
  • Support members of the internal audit team
  • Support external regulatory, certified and customer audits as required
  • Review customer, regulatory and certification requirements and determine the Company compliance status against these standards
  • Performs other duties as requested, directed or assigned

Note that this role may require 25% of the time travelling internationally.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Quality Assurance
  • Diverse knowledge of inspection and control methods, techniques, and documentation
  • Strong computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases
  • Experience working with quality metrics
  • Experience working with development tools, processes, approaches and/or techniques
  • Willingness to travel

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

  • Working experience of Quality Assurance in the aerospace industry
  • Demonstrate aerospace regulatory experience
  • Demonstrate knowledge in Composite Manufacturing
  • Qualification in a relevant discipline
  • EASA Part 21-G training
  • AS9100 training
  • Completion of audit training
  • Completion of problem solving training
