The Insurance Auditor will report to the Head of Legal, Risk & Compliance of LeasePlan Insurance (LPINS). The role holder is responsible for the dual aspects of compliance and business controls.

 

Job Purpose


The Insurance Auditor will report to the Head of Legal, Risk & Compliance of LeasePlan Insurance (LPINS). The role holder is responsible for the dual aspects of compliance and business controls.

 

The employee may be requested by the company to hold a Central Bank of Ireland control function. This is a permanent position and travel will be required.

 

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Co-ordinate and perform on-site risk and controls audits of insurance activities at group intermediaries, entities, claim handlers, and internally within the insurer.
  • Perform audits on risk selection, pricing, underwriting, compliance, insurance premium tax, and policy data completeness and accuracy.
  • Draft audit findings, including recommendations on mitigating management actions and control improvements necessary to ensure risks are adequately managed and comply with best practice, in accordance with the company’s Risk Management System
  • Manage the group Insurance Compliance function including the group Insurance Distribution Directive project
  • Development and implement a framework for a second line of defence compliance oversight for insurance across countries
  • Provide central support on insurance compliance to local compliance officers 
  • Perform compliance and control reviews of entities comprising desk reviews and/or on-site reviews, focusing on compliance and controls within insurance.

 

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong demonstrated audit or control testing experience (external audit, internal audit, risk or business controls)

  • Experience in a similar role, preferably in the financial services or insurance industry

  • Project or change management experience is desirable

  • Experience of cross border financial services or compliance would be well regarded

  • Professional qualification in the area of audit would be preferable, but not essential

  • High level of commercial and financial awareness

  • Willing to challenge established policies and procedures at all levels within the company.

  • Keen analytical mindset with a capability to analyse information and recommend sensible and workable solutions
