Sigmar Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced Clinical Measurement Physiologist (GI) to work with our client in Cork.

 

Sigmar Recruitment have an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Clinical Measurement GI Physiologist to work with a prominent hospital in Cork. This role is a business critical hire, visa assistance will be provided for the successful candidate.

Reporting to the Chief Clinical Measurement Physiologist, the successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of invasive GI diagnostic testing.

Core Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a full range of GI diagnostic testing

  • Hydrogen breath testing

  • Documenting and taking into account patient medical history

  • Documenting accurate patient results in accordance with professional standards

  • Liaise with other members of the multi-disciplinary team as required

  • Take note of medications and be aware of any possible effects on any testing being carried out

  • Provision of maintenance, electrical safety checks and calibration on all equipment

  • Ensure equipment is disinfected and maintained in line with professional and department standards

  • Adhere to best practice guidelines at all times

Education & Experience Required:

  • BSc in Clinical Measurement (will also accept final year students from DIT) OR Certificate in Medical Physics and Physiological Measurement OR equivalent level 8 qualification (confirmed by Irish Institute of Clinical Measurement)

  • Must be able to demonstrate competency in all aspects of invasive GI Physiology testing

  • Proven record of participation in various and relevant research projects

  • High level of IT skills

  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records

  • Exceptional communication skills & bed-side manner

  • Ability to demonstrate compassion and empathy toward patients and their families
