Risk Management – Health & Safety Officer

LOCATION:  DUBLIN

JOB TYPE:    PERMANENT

SALARY:       NEGOTIABLE   

THE OPPORTUNITY:

Red Tree Recruitment are looking to speak to professionals with a Risk Management / Health & Safety background for this exciting opportunity. You will provide Risk Management advice with the aim of reducing future claims and litigation and where claims do arise help to reduce liability and expenses.

THE ROLE:

Working within a team of Risk Management professionals the role involves :

  • Data and incident management 
  • Promoting reporting and investigation
  • Risk reviews of serious incidents and new claims
  • Carry out closed claims analysis for future learning’s
  • Interpreting and interrogating data to support health, safety and risk initiatives
    • Policy development to improve injury prevention and health protection (physical and mental)
    • Research into specific technical/risk areas
    • Drafting of policy/guidance
      • Risk, indemnity and health and safety management query advice preparation 
      • Coordinating and supporting seminars, events and training
      • Contributing to the implementation of health, safety and risk management projects and initiatives

 

CANDIDATE PROFILE/EXPERIENCE:

Knowledge 

  • The candidate should hold an honours degree in engineering or science/social science from a recognised establishment/authority

And/or

  • A further qualification in any of the following; health and safety, environmental, public health, insurance and/or fire risk management

 Experience

  • Ideally, have 1-2 years’ experience in working in a relevant area such as:  health and safety risk management, environmental risk management, personal injuries insurance, fire risk management (public and/or healthcare sector a distinct advantage)
  • Qualifications or experience in the implementation of management systems in particular ISO 31000, OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001 is desirable 

Skills 

  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and an aptitude for using database analytical tools
  • The ability to work on their own or as part of a team
  • The candidate should have strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A proven track record of successfully analysing and solving problems, coupled with good organisational skills is required
  • Candidate must have a clean valid driving license
