Actuary, Italian - Risk Management & Solvency

Job Description: 

  • Responsible to ensure that all Best Estimate assumptions are duly updated and that consistency is maintained with the Solvency II regulations.
  • Responsible for Solvency II QRT reporting, including calculation of Technical Provisions and Italian tax cost of future liability, and preparing assigned QRTs.
  • Responsible to design and constantly upgrade underlying Liabilities models in order to keep the reporting process as smooth as possible.
  • Provides support to ORSA /Stress tests through projection of TPs and balance sheet items as required.
  • Provides inputs (projection of cash flows) in the budgetary process.

Responsibilities include:

Solvency II reporting

  • Setting Best Estimate assumptions for each valuation and documenting the process;
  • With reference to assumptions, development and maintenance of tools used to get information on experience and perform experience analysis;
  • Calculation of Technical Provisions (Best Estimate and Risk Margin);
  • Calculation of some balance sheet items (Italian tax asset write-down and Cost of future liability in relation to Italian tax)
  • Preparing and checking information as input in the company’s system used for QRT creation;
  • Contributing to the RSR (regular supervisory report) and SFCR (Solvency Financial Condition Report);
  • Maintaining up-to-date methodological documents, processes and procedures pertaining to the area;
  • ORSA/ Stress tests through projection of TPs and cash flows needed to project balance sheets;
  • Contribute by liaising with Actuarial Function, Parent Company and CBI.
  • Actuarial software: maintain and document the model developed on the system (RAFM)

Essential/Required qualifications, skills and knowledge

  • At least 6 years working experience in life insurance companies, preferably in a senior position or performing similar tasks.
  • Bachelor in actuarial sciences or in a 3rd level quantitative field
  • Programming skills and experience (in particular SQL and/or C)
  • Proficient in using excel
  • Italian and English required
  • Knowledge of RAFM software
  • Knowledge of Solvency II framework
  • Highly motivated individual, with focus on accuracy and attention to details
  • Ability to work on multiple and complex tasks simultaneously and to tight deadlines
  • Capacity to tackle challenges in multicultural environments
