White Horse Insurance Ireland (WHIIdac) is an insurer wholly owned by Thomas Cook Group providing insurance to Thomas Cook businesses and third parties. Established in 1999 by the former MyTravel Group, it was initially formed to provide travel insurance products sold to MyTravel customers in-house (both UK & Ireland and Northern Europe) and to provide in-house captive solutions for the Group. The company became part of the Thomas Cook Group in 2007 with the merger of MyTravel and Thomas Cook. In December 2006, WHIIdac established its own in-house claims handling operation in Shannon, Ireland to handle claims on behalf of all its policyholders. This operation has been built from the ground up, using industry leading system technology and processes with the aim of providing innovative, best in class and highly cost effective claims handling services. From January 2009 this centre began to handle all Thomas Cook insurance claims for policies sold in the UK & Ireland. The operation is incorporated into a separate company, White Horse Administration Services.
