Feargal Quinn opened his first Superquinn in 1960, in premises of less than 200 square metres, and a staff of eight in Dundalk. Today Superquinn employs more than 5,500 people and has a sales area of over 40,000 square metres. It owns 19 large stores and nine shopping centres and is the market leader in grocery retailing in Greater Dublin.

Over the years Superquinn has built itself an international reputation for innovation and a customer driven ethos. It pioneered the idea of in-store bakeries, pizza kitchens and Playhouses for children, to name but a few, making it a destination shopping experience for so many Irish shoppers.
