In 1998, Sun Life Ireland Information Services Ltd was set up in Waterford as a technology centre to provide software development support to the company’s business units world-wide. Sun Life Ireland is to play a key role in preparing Sun Life world-wide for upcoming software and IT challenges, including new technology platforms, possible company acquisitions and other growth opportunities. The centre was officially opened in November 1998, and now has a start-up team in place. The current focus is the recruitment of project team members to undertake the software development projects already in line.
