MSD – Inventing for Life

MSD is a global healthcare leader with a strong legacy in Ireland, stretching back over 50 years. With a strong footprint in Carlow, Cork, Dublin and Tipperary, our extensive Irish operations encompass manufacturing, commercial, marketing, as well as a range of specialist functions, providing healthcare solutions and innovative medicines in areas such as diabetes, heart disease, immuno-oncology, infectious diseases and vaccines.

Sustained investment in Ireland over the last five decades has ensured that MSD and our 1,600 employees are ideally placed to play a significant role in responding to the world’s most vital, unmet health needs. Our existing portfolio and future pipeline ensure current and future employees operate at the cutting edge of science and technology, with innovative thinking a key part of our DNA.

From invention, to impact, to inspiration, our work offers employees a sense of personal accomplishment, contributing to the health and well-being of people across the world, and moving towards solutions for tomorrow.

Today, our Irish sites are involved in the production of over 50% of MSD’s global top 20 products, exporting to over 60 countries worldwide.

MSD in Carlow is a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, and the company’s first stand-alone vaccine and biologics facility outside the US. Carlow is an important link in MSD’s network of sites producing our new immuno-oncology treatment for the global market.

MSD in Brinny, Co. Cork is an integrated site for the development, testing and manufacturing of biologics, specialising in the fermentation, purification and sterile filling of biotech products. Brinny meets the demand for some of the company's important treatments for oncology, hepatitis C and immunology.

MSD in Ballydine, Co. Tipperary develops and supplies the active ingredients and final formulated product for a range of innovative medicines. Over the last 40 years the facility has grown and evolved from a pure manufacturing site to a designated commercialisation site, encompassing a range of value adding research, development and innovation activities.

In addition to its manufacturing sites, MSD also operates Human Health and Animal Health divisions, incorporating marketing, sales, policy and research.

MSD is currently on the look-out for driven candidates interested in inventing for life, and have vacancies across a number of specialisms including technical, engineering, biochemistry, biology, quality and operations positions.
