InterTradeIreland, the Trade and Business Development Body, is one of six cross-border bodies established under the Belfast Agreement, 1999.

InterTradeIreland operates from its single base in Newry, and is funded by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation in Ireland and the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment in Northern Ireland.

InterTradeIreland’s remit is described in its enabling legislation as ‘a Body to exchange information and co-ordinate work on trade, business development and related matters, in areas where the two administrations specifically agree it would be in their mutual interest’.
