Over 40 years in Ireland, previously as part of Elan and now as Alkermes plc, we have been applying our skills and knowledge from concept development, right through to full scale manufacturing.
Alkermes has its principal solid oral development and manufacturing facilities in Athlone, Ireland. Located on a 40 acre site, with over 200,000 sq ft of dedicated GMP grade facilities, the FDA/EMA licensed facility has a nominal capacity of 2.0 billion unit doses per annum, depending on product configurations. Alkermes’ product development capabilities include formulation development, analytical development, product scale-up, product registration and commercial manufacturing.
