Alkermes (“AL-ker-meez”) is a drug innovator, a global biopharmaceutical company with a focus on chronic diseases of the central nervous system (CNS) affecting millions of patients, the healthcare system and society. Our people are developing new medicines that address opioid addiction, depression and schizophrenia—some of the most urgent public health and mental illness challenges today.

We are in an exciting phase of growth, with a portfolio of products available now and a pipeline of potential medicines in late-stage development.

Our vision is to make a difference for patients with breakthrough research, development and advocacy, and to expand our scientific and business base. To help us achieve this, we need to expand our community of Alkermes employees in every part of the organization. We’re looking for scientists with a thirst for discovery and development, and people to engage with healthcare providers and get important our information regarding disease treatments to patients; we’re expanding our field sales and marketing team; we need public health policy experts and economists, and people with the skills to manufacture our medicines; and we need more of the people who keep Alkermes running as a thriving, high performing organization.

Please describe the problem with this review.

I joined the company in January 2004, after working as a formulations scientist with ICI/Zeneca for ten years. Currently, I lead the Formulation Development (FD) group in Ireland as part of a global FD function. Working in this organization has given me the opportunity to work with like-minded, driven individuals who have a common goal to develop medications which ultimately may improve people’s lives.
David Manser , Director, Formulation Development
