Acquired Brain Injury Ireland is a national organisation which was established in June 2000 (formerly known as The Peter Bradley Foundation) to provide Assisted Living and Home & Community services for people with Acquired Brain Injury in Ireland. Our mission is: ‘To enable people with an Acquired Brain Injury live within the community by providing and maintaining a supported environment’ Assisted Living Residences provide individualised, community-based support services designed to maximise each client’s quality of life while fostering autonomy, personal growth and development. Interventions focus on enhancing functional independence, facilitating community involvement, supporting peer relationships and promoting experiential learning. Home & Community Services provide post-acute rehabilitation programmes that focus on re-adjustment to community living following brain injury, improvement of functional skills, health and medical management, and teaching alternatives to behaviours that interfere with a person’s functioning and rehabilitative progress.
