Windows System Engineer

The Business

The business is a Financial Exchange comprising of Exchange and Broker systems. It is a complex mission critical high volume transactional business which uses Microsoft technologies to facilitate online trading over the web and for the back office clearinghouse and customer management infrastructure.  A network of Brokers exist globally which transact into the central Exchange

The Team

Within GBE the Infrastructure team is responsible for building and maintaining all infrastructure e.g. Physical and virtual servers, Storage, LAN, WAN, Firewalls, Load balancing, Network and System monitoring tools etc

The Role

The Windows Support Engineer is a highly technical role as part of the Infrastructure Group providing technical support across a broad spectrum of server and infrastructure technologies with a strong focus on Microsoft server technologies. We are recruiting a number of roles suitable for engineers at different levels of experience (minimum 3-4 years) and seniority but the candidate must have excellent working knowledge and technical experience in the following :

Windows Server Technologies

• Windows 2003/2008 R2
• Windows High Availability Solutions
• Windows Virtualisation Technologies

Experience in one or more of the following areas is desirable :

• Windows Networking
• Windows Monitoring and Management Technologies – HP Sim, System Centre
• Active Directory and Domain Policy Management
• HP Servers & SAN products & technologies
• Scripting
• Web server technologies - IIS

You should have the following experience

• Minimum of 5 years hands on experience these technologies ideally in a 24 x 7 environment.
• MCITP, MCSE, MCSA, MCSD or similar certifications
• Strong team player attributes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Planning and organizing skills
• Analysis and problem solving skills
