Group: Financial Services Tax practice
The Financial Services tax group advises on a broad range of international and domestic clients across a wide variety of industries and with a particular focus on the financial services sector.
Our client list includes all of the significant financial institutions in Ireland, in the banking, insurance and fund management sectors. We also advise many clients involved in complex structured finance and capital markets transactions with a market leadership position in the big-ticket (aircraft, ships etc.) finance and leasing sectors. We have a number of people operating in the property and investment and financing sector in structuring and advising on real estate transactions.
In addition to our focus on financial services and property clients, our industry focus also extends to wind energy, carbon credit trading, telecommunications, private equity and hedge funds as well as a general focus on insurance and investment in Ireland by multinational clients.
Role: Senior Manager & Manager for Tax (Financial Services)
We are seeking to hire experienced Tax Managers to join our leading tax practice.
Key responsibilities include:
- Responsibility for a portfolio of clients
- Assisting directors and partners in providing advice to clients on a wide range of advisory projects, including attendance at meetings, liaising with lawyers and client and review of documents
- Assisting our compliance practice with the tax accrual and tax return processes
- Researching and resolving technical queries from clients
- Liaising with Revenue
- Liaising with directors and partners, as well as other professionals including Audit, IES and Transaction Services
- Assisting in managing a group of c.5 seniors and trainees
- Monitoring the development of seniors and trainees and playing an active role in the performance appraisal process
- Participation in the delivery of training courses to staff
- General administration, including working capital management.
Requirements
- Qualified accountant (Chartered Accountant or equivalent) and member of the Irish Taxation Institute
- Strong technical knowledge of tax
- Minimum of four and a half years in a professional tax environment, including some time at manager grade or equivalent.
- Excellent team leading, interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent drive, enthusiasm and commitment.
