Overview of Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the collation of potential new products and brands from suppliers and our Purchasing department. The role will involve presenting product recommendations to the business stakeholders (Account Managers, Marketing, Purchasing) for consideration to include these to the range. The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years experience in a similar role dealing with technical/hardware products with a relevant degree in Procurement/Purchasing. Ideally, the candidate will come from a distribution background with experience in the mobile telecommunications industry. A qualification in Marketing is also desirable. The role will include a clearly defined career progression path.
Salary range: 45k upwards
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Representation of the Company at trade shows locally and internationally including Hong Kong, Barcelona, Las Vegas and New Orleans.
- Participation in and leading international supplier visits principally to UK,China and the Far East
- Ability to develop existing and introduce new brands to our portfolio of high-end consumer products
- Hosting of and participation in customer and supplier event management locally to showcase new product
- To liaise with suppliers directly or with the purchasing dept to understand product options
- To work with various departments to build a understanding of handsets roadmaps to match up potential accessory products
- To develop an organised system for recording all product information pricing, images etc
- To develop a monthly product presentation forum for both internal Account Mangers and external Customer Account Principles
- To complete all product set up forms for agreed ranged lines (liaise with relevant account manager)
- To liaise with marketing for product role out, promotions and all POS options
- To liaise with purchasing to communicate all product decisions, initial forecasting
- To plan product entry and exit with Account Managers
- To create and manage a FOC sample control system
- To maintain new product information sheets to assist Retail Executives in store training
- Non-technical product testing and evaluation
- To liaise with Retail Executives on new product comms. though marketing
- To assist in the development of a direct sourced product quality control system
- Monthly new product launches comms.
Essential Skills:
- Minimum 4 years experience in a relevant role
- Proficiency in Excel and Powerpoint

Desirable Qualifications:
- Degree related to Marketing or Procurement/Purchasing
- Experience in Retail is desirable
- A background in dealing with technical products in telecommunications would be an advantage
