Job Title: Senior Automation Design Engineer – Dublin Office

The role will require the successful candidate to provide automation design input to the office projects across a broad range of industries including Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical, Food, Energy and Building Services.  Travel outside Irelandwill be required depending on project requirements.

Job Role / Responsibilities

  • Manage the design and implementation of Automation systems from concept to system handover
  • Work closely with clients to meet their requirements
  • Interact with other design disciplines within theDublinoffice and other PM Group offices
  • Develop project schedules
  • Develop project budgets and cost estimates for control systems
  • Develop project documentation
  • Keep PM at the leading edge of technological advances in process control solutions.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to complete tasks within timeframes and budgets. 
  • Strong communicator

Qualifications / Experience:

  • Strong knowledge of process control systems
  • Strong knowledge of Instrumentation is a distinct advantage
  • Ability to interact with process design engineers to develop control strategies is essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of current regulations within the Pharmaceutical environment (GMP, GAMP, ISA S88, ISA S95).
  • Previous experience working in a multi-discipline design office will be a distinct advantage.
  • Minimum of Degree Qualified in relevant discipline.
  • 8+ years experience working as an Automation Engineer.
  • Experience working within API and / or Bio-pharmaceutical facilities.
  • Experience of control system hardware and software platforms for the major suppliers (Siemens, Rockwell, ABB, Etc)
  • Good working knowledge of industry standard systems (Profibus, ControlNet, Ethernet)
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Foreign language capability (French / German) is also a distinct advantage
