Description
Job Overview:
Work with project teams to determine whether an application and its associated activities are suitable for a test automation development effort.

Research and evaluate alternative solutions and recommend the most efficient and cost effective automated solution for suitable applications.

Work with business partners, developers and test analysts to document expected requirements.

Deliver automated solutions that satisfy expected requirements, that reduce test time and/or increase test coverage potential and that can be effectively maintained.

Deliver reusable solutions by developing a framework of reusable components that are not application specific.

Provide training and user documentation on how to execute and evaluate the results of the automation.

Summary Of Duties:
Develop automation solutions to Pramerica standards.

- Follow documented procedures for the Test Automation Development Life Cycle
- Follow documented coding standards and naming conventions.
- Conduct code reviews with other technical specialists.
- Develop and maintain automation code and documentation within an approved versioning control system.
- Perform unit tests on the automation code and record results in a unit test log
- Track and manage automation defects reported by the test analysts using a bug reporting tool

Respond to enhancement requests and provide test analysts with technical support as needed.

Provide productivity metrics to management and business partners when requested.

Investigate and become an expert in tools that support the various stages of the Test Automation Development LifeCycle e.g. Microfocus Test Partner, HP Quality Center.

Remain connected to industry trends and progress in the software test automation domain.

Knowledge & Skills Requirements:
1. To have excellent written and verbal communications skills.
2. To have a good understanding of the automation development life cycle and its required deliverables.
3. 3+ years relevant work experience with proven ability to design and deliver quality software to Pramerica standards and schedules.
4. To have proven ability in one or more automation tools and/or development platforms and languages. (e.g.QTP, Test Partner)
5. Knowledge of BPT would be advantageous.
6. Ability to analyse requirements and answer complex customer queries.
7. Ability to provide technical training and mentoring to other members of staff.
8. Ability to work on own initiative, without direct supervision from management.
9. Ability to work well with business partners and other project team members.

Background Requirements (Education/qualifications/previous experience)
1. Educated to University level (or equivalent) preferably in Computer related subject or Student placement during 3-4 year of University
2. Leaving certificate or equivalent, essential in English and Mathematics.
3. 3+ years in a Technical Discipline which should include Analysis, Design, Coding and Quality Assurance/Quality Engineering related experience
4. Knowledge or experience in SQL, VB.Net, HTML an advantage.
