Smartbox.com is seeking an exceptional and passionate Senior System Engineer to contribute to the success of their Dublin HQ IT team.

Role/Responsibilities:

• Drive key IT projects
• Provide guidance to the team for using best practices and enterprise level standards.
• Support E-Commerce and ERP applications. 
• Communicate and document project specifications, procedures, etc..
• Provide accurate effort-estimates for deliverables.
• Involved in hiring engineers and in growing the team.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience of Linux / Windows systems within an enterprise level environment
• The candidate must have experience in Virtualisation (VMWare, HyperV, Xen etc.) and a working knowledge of VMWare ESX/ESXi and VSphere solutions is a plus
• The candidate must be experienced in file transfer protocols FTP, SFTP, FTPS, SCP etc.

• The candidate will be required to propose and implement all solutions to ameliorate and to secure the platform so design and planning experience is a must

• The candidate must be experienced in scripting languages such as Shell, Perl, Python, PowerShell, PowerCLI
• The candidate must have experience of working with Data Centers environments
• Security awareness is required, experience in hardening and securing platforms.
• The candidate should have experience in IBM SAN and file system databases. 

• Experience in Cloud computing, IaaS environment is a plus.
• The candidate should be innovative, creative, flexible and self-directed.
• A strong customer focus is required.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science.
• Good English verbal and written communication skills.
