Supply Chain Planner

 

Background to the Role:

Life Scientific Ltd is located on the UCD campus at NovaUCD, the innovation hub of Ireland’s largest University, and specialises in the development and registration of crop protection products. Our products are brought to market via a virtual supply chain, and sold through top level distributors in key EU markets. Sales in the last financial year reached €20m, a doubling on the previous year, due to ongoing expansion of our portfolio, increased market share, and entry into new markets.

Ongoing growth, and an ambitious 5-year plan, backed by a strong product pipeline and portfolio means that we now have a vacancy in our Supply Chain division. Based at our Supply Chain office in Skerries, Co Dublin, and Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the successful candidate will join the Company at an exciting stage, coinciding with the implementation of SAP Business One, ongoing growth in our product portfolio and entry into new markets.

Main responsibilities will include: 

  • Schedule, plan and manage the Production Plan and materials required for Production Plan execution
  • Coordinate flow of work and materials
  • Preparation of documentation required for Production Plan
  • Maintain focus on material availability as indicated by production Plan
  • Monitor and maintain complete accuracy related to incoming materials
  • Identify stock at risk and liaise with key personnel in processing inventory write off
  • Escalate major supply issues to key individuals
  • Monitor integrity of Bill of Materials and manage inventory accuracy
  • Manage risks to minimise impact on production
  • Warehouse cycle counting
  • Any other tasks deemed appropriate by Supply Chain Manager.

 Ideal candidate: Essential:

  • 3 years + Supply Chain experience
  • ERP experience – ideally SAP Business One
  • Experience of working within a Quality Management System (e.g. ISO, GMP)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint 

Desirable: 

  • Relevant industry background (agrochemicals/pharmaceuticals/food)
  • Experience of electronic data management systems
