Description

Senior Linux System Administrator

 

My client is a leader in international travel booking . They are looking for a Senior Linux Admin

 

You will have senior level UNIX and database administration experience. In particular, an in-depth knowledge of Linux, networking and LAMP stack is essential. You will be responsible for maintaining our current systems, upgrading and building new systems and planning long-term system architecture.

 

The ideal candidate will have experience building and maintaining high-availability enterprise-level platforms, including clustered web and database solutions, cross-server session management and multiple levels of redundancy.

 

What you’ll be doing

 

  • In co-operation with other team members maintain and manage all aspects of an advanced high-traffic LAMP-based platform

 

Essential requirements

  • 5+ years of UNIX/Linux systems administration in a high-volume, high-performance, high-availability production environment supporting customer-facing, Internet based services
  • Extensive experience with Unix systems, dns, web, email and database servers administration in high-volume, high-performance, high-availability, virtualized and geographically diverse environment
  • In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP networking, extensive experience with Internet facing high-volume, high-performance, high-availability and geographically diverse environment
  • Good knowledge of Unix system and web applications security issues/solutions (experience with PCI-DSS a significant advantage)
  • Proven technical troubleshooting and performance tuning experience, proven ability to maintain excellent technical documentation and thorough understanding of change management principles
  • Ability to handle periodic on-call duty as well as out-of-band requests
