Description

Due to an impending re-organisation of the Finance function and in light of succession planning requirements, RSM Ireland is now recruiting a Finance Manager to join a well-established faith based organisation based in South Dublin.

 

The Finance Manager will report to the Province Treasurer and work with the existing Finance team in driving and implementing the re-organisation of the Order’s Finance Function.  It is envisaged that the role will initially focus on managing the financial accounts, trusts and investments, as well as building relationships with external and internal stakeholders.

It is anticipated that the role will evolve over time to encompass elements of the Provincial Treasurer function whilst delegating the more transactional elements of the role.

It is envisaged that over time the Finance Manager will assume direct line management responsibility for the Finance team and will essentially head up the operational elements of the function.  The Finance Manager will also work closely with the Province Treasurer to develop and implement the financial strategy of the organisation.  The post-holder will also prepare an annual business plan outlining the actions required to deliver the unit objectives, and present the business plan to the Province Treasurer for approval.

As the organisation is continually developing the automation of their financial systems, the Finance Manager will be a key driver of this process.

The ideal candidate will be required to understand deeply the structure, ethos and operating environment of a faith based organisation to effectively manage the challenges faced by it in pursuit of its mission.

Experience and Qualification Requirements

  • Qualififed Accountant with 10 years+ PQE.
  • Proven budgeting and planning experience.
  • Experience managing property and investment portfolios.
  • Experience in managing tax and treasury issues.
  • Experience of charity/ not-for-profit sector desirable.
  • Excellent IT skills and knowledge of MS Office suit packages and an ability to use and develop the company accounting software tools and systems.
  • Good writing skills.
  • An interest in working in an environment where there is a requirement to understand deeply the structure, the ethos and operation environment of a faith based organisation.

Compensation

The Finance Manager role is a key senior position in the organisation and the related compensation package will therefore reflect this fact.
