As a Linux System Administrator, you will provision, configure and manage Debian-based Linux servers in an AWS environment.
In this important role, you’ll investigate support issues raised by customers via a ticketing system, and perform updates, upgrades and security patching.
Additionally, you will:
- Manage over 100 server instances across virtual server providers (this is expected to double in size within the next year
- Carry out MySQL/PostgreSQL database administration, backup and restore
- Provide support for an open source library application
- Manage user access and privileges
- Monitor and respond to system performance and/or critical system states
- Document procedures
Interested? To be considered, you will need:
- At least two years’ Linux system administration experience
- Knowledge of command line scripting
- Familiarity with AWS architecture and MySQL
As a Linux System Administrator, you’ll have strong communication skills and a logical approach to problem-solving. Organised and diligent, you’ll also be self-motivated, proactive and able to work well, both in a team and individually.
Knowledge of Perl, Nagios or Ansible would be beneficial to your application.
