Linux Engineer - Dublin City
The Linux Systems Engineer is responsible for infrastructure setup, installation, management and maintenance. The role is also responsible for business continuity and disaster recovery as well as vendor management of IT hardware, software and licences.
Maintenance of production and testing infrastructure
Installation of new production systems
Troubleshooting production systems
Setting up DR sites
Ability to troubleshoot issues
RHCE or equivalent skillset
Indepth knowledge of Linux
Indepth knowledge of Ubuntu server
Indepth knowledge of networking protocols - TCPIP, SMB, etc.
Knowledge of FTP, SSH, DNS, DHCP, SSL,
Indepth knowledge of Apache, Tomcat, MySQL, MariaDB
Knowledge of VPN configuration
Knowledge of LVM configuration
Knowledge of either glusterfs or DRBD
Excellent knowledge of virtualisation (Xen)
Ability to implement national and international standards; ability to create processes which deliver increased productivity in team; ability to contribute to the development of standards
Ability to understand theoretical scenarios and contribute to brainstorming at a conceptual level
Has a clear understanding of the PCI DSS industry
Ability to clearly communicate purpose of change; ability to craft and implement a plan for change within own area
Accurately scopes out length and difficulty of tasks and projects; sets objectives and goals; breaks down work into the process steps; develops schedules and task/people assignments; anticipates and adjusts for problems and roadblocks; measures performance against goals; evaluates results.
Ability to engage effectively with colleagues, customers and suppliers.
